Combining the knowledge he had from fishing in and around Middle Bass Island and from fishing the entire Western Basin of Lake Erie Tony became a very good fisherman and used that knowledge to
fish at various places he was stationed. He had the good fortune of fishing in some of the premier
fishing sports in the US.
While in the Coast Guard some of Tony's assignments were with the Aids to Navigation team in Hancock, Mi where he was a crew member on the 110' cutter, then on to become a Chief Petty
Officer on the 140' ice breaker Penscott Bay which operated in the Great Lakes. His ocean experience includes being Officer in Charge on the 87' coastal patrol boat Ridley, patroling from Maine to New Jersey. His last assignment was Officer in Charge of the 87' cutter Tarpon based out of Tybee Island, GA. His duties included patrolling the coastal waters with the primary mission of commercial fishing enforcement.
