Tony is a native of Ohio and had the good fortune of growing up spending his summers on Middle  Bass Island, where his grandfather lived.  Tony joined the U.S. Coast Guard in 1982 and his first  station was in Marblehead, Ohio where he stayed until 1987.  In 1984 Jim & Tony met and have been good friends since. Tony 1st mated for Jim on his days off from the Coast Guard and picked up some valuable tips for Lake Erie walleye fishing plus honed up on his own skills.

Captain Tony

Combining the knowledge he had from fishing in and around Middle Bass Island and from fishing the entire Western Basin of Lake Erie Tony became a very good fisherman and used that knowledge to

fish at various places he was stationed. He had the good fortune of fishing in some of the premier

fishing sports in the US.

While in the Coast Guard some of Tony's assignments were with the Aids to Navigation team in Hancock, Mi where he was a crew member on the 110' cutter, then on to become a Chief Petty

Officer on the 140' ice breaker Penscott Bay which operated in the Great Lakes. His ocean experience includes being Officer in Charge on the 87' coastal patrol boat Ridley, patroling from Maine to New Jersey. His last assignment was Officer in Charge of the 87' cutter Tarpon based out of Tybee Island, GA. His duties included patrolling the coastal waters with the primary mission of commercial fishing enforcement.

Tony has been an avid fisherman since the day he could carry a fishing pole and since his heart has always been with Lake Erie he is excited to be returning to it and to be operating the Litehouse II as the full-time captain. Due to health issues, Jim will be along assisting and being 1st mate. My, how times change!!
