In both the early and late season
lake erie fishing charters, we like to add trolling to the
arsenal of catching techniques. Often times, trolling will
out produce both size and numbers of the bigger, trophy-sized walleye,
when drift techniques aren't as effective. Of course, Litehouse Charters leave this decision up to you on which method we use. Many
times, we start the day off drifting and finishing up trolling. When
most other boats have tough days, we usually still out produce others or
limit out for the day.

The
walleye fishing always picks up the first 2 weeks of May on Lake Erie,
weather permitting. Many trophy fish are caught during this period, and fishing
will continue to get
better as summer progressed.
-
July has proved to be the fastest
fishing time of the year for Lake Erie walleye. Long boat rides could
occur, but normally this is the best fishing.
-
Fishing in August, you'll usually find the walleye fishing
starting to slow down due to lack of rain and
hot weather, but the fantastic perch fishing can save the trips when the
walleye weren't biting well.
-
Expect good walleye
fishing in September and October, usually landing 4 to 6 trophy fish per
day, with limit or near limit coolers. But as can be expected, rough weather limited the days we could get
out for walleye.
Over all, fishing in
2010 should again be excellent on
your Lake Erie charters.
